How to be an Alligator Wrangler (book)

For this assignment we were supposed to make a "how to" book on anything of our choice. This past spring break I spent in Florida, and our main goal was to find an alligator. Sadly, we did not however, this book became my opportunity to get up close and personal with the alligator. My topic is "How to be an Alligator Wrangler."

The first step in my book was making the illustrations. I drew them with pen, scanned them in, and then added color in Illustrator. I made a different illustration for each chapter (category). Next I added everything else, such as the text. When it came time to put the book together I really wanted to go for a "straight out of the swamp" feel. I found papyrus made from tree bark and used drawing paper with the jagged edges facing outward. Below are pictures of my final book as well as pictures of each individual page before I printed them.
